Conclave
Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 September 2026
Conclave is operated by Eoin Affotey-Walters, 77 Frances Road B30 3DU, Kings Norton, Birmingham, United Kingdom. You can reach us at eajjyt@gmail.com.
This policy sets out what information the app collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to the Conclave iOS app and nothing else.
What we collect
Your account
When you sign in with Apple we receive a unique identifier for your Apple account, and your name and email address if you choose to share them. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address. We never receive your Apple password.
What you put before the council
The questions you submit, the follow-ups you ask, the decisions you record in the Ledger, and any outcomes you note later. This is the substance of the app — without it there is nothing for the council to answer.
Your preferences
Which figures you have seated, the register you selected during onboarding, what you told us you rule, and the decision domains you chose.
Subscription status
Whether you hold an active subscription, when it renews, and whether you are within a trial period. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail.
Technical and diagnostic data
Device model, operating system version, app version, and crash reports. This is used to diagnose faults and nothing else.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photographs, your microphone input, or any record of your activity outside the app.
Why we collect it
Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for processing your information. Ours are:
Performance of a contract. We cannot deliver counsel without sending your question to be answered, and we cannot manage your subscription without knowing whether it is active.
Legitimate interests. Diagnosing crashes, preventing abuse of the service, and understanding in aggregate which parts of the app are used. We balance this against your interests and keep it to what is necessary.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not permit our providers to train their models on what you submit.
Anthropic receives the text of your question and the relevant context in order to generate the council's response. It is sent without your name or account identifier attached. Anthropic's terms for business customers prohibit training on this content.
RevenueCat manages subscription state on our behalf and receives a pseudonymous user identifier along with your purchase status.
Apple processes your payment and handles sign-in. Apple's own privacy policy governs what it does with that information.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Where your information is held
Your questions, ledger entries and preferences are stored on your device and, where you have signed in, on our servers so they survive reinstalling the app. Some of our providers are based in the United States. Where information leaves the UK, it is protected by the International Data Transfer Addendum or the standard contractual clauses recognised under UK law.
How long we keep it
- Your account and the contents of your Ledger: for as long as your account exists, and for 30 days after you delete it, after which it is erased.
- Subscription records: for six years, as UK tax law requires.
- Crash and diagnostic data: 12 months.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it if it is wrong, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. You can delete your account and everything in it from within the app, or by writing to us at eajjyt@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of what we hold.
Children
Conclave is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows when it was last revised.
